The ERC is building a team of Graduate Student Ambassadors to help expand ERC’s visibility, programming, and partnerships. Ambassadors support website and technology projects, marketing and recruitment, event planning, mentoring undergraduate students, and project management for ERC initiatives (about 5 hours per week).
This is not a traditional research assistantship, but it offers early exposure to education policy work, ERC operations, and potential research-related opportunities.
Who can apply:
Current Texas A&M master’s or doctoral students with interest in education policy, strong initiative, and the ability to work independently and remotely.

Purpose
The Education Research Center (ERC) is seeking to establish an interdisciplinary core of graduate students who can help to expand its reach and goals. We are considering a diverse group of graduate students (e.g., year, content, backgrounds) to assist with administration and logistics, with the long-term goal of building a sustainable research foundation to support all graduate students interested in education policy and ERC-related activities.
Note: These are not research-specific positions; rather, they are designed to build toward future engagement in research.
Eligibility
- Any current TAMU master’s or doctoral student
- Experience or interest in education policy
- Enthusiasm and initiative
Responsibilities
- Meet bi-monthly with ERC staff
- Work independently and remotely to project completion
- Take initiative, think creatively, and solve problems
- Engage in and recruit for ERC activities

Be proficient in at least one of the following areas:
- Website and technology
- Marketing and recruitment
- Event planning
- Mentoring undergraduate students
- Project management
- Commit approximately 5 hours per week
Ambassadors will help expand ERC operations and build capacity. They will receive early access to some initial research-related opportunities (not guaranteed). This role offers a valuable way to engage with the ERC, build partnerships, increase involvement, and strengthen your CV.
